The Boy

The Boy
The boy who was my first love.
The boy who left me beaten.

The boy who taught me how to ski.
The boy who was always watching me.

The boy who’s family loved me like their own.
The boy I can’t seem to forgive.

He broke my heart like a porcelain plate.

The boy who took me on countless adventures.
The boy who made me cry for days on end.

The boy who promised me the world.
The boy who judged my worth.

The boy who told me that I was the “love of his life.”
The boy who blamed all his problems on me.

A plate may never be the same after it shatters.

The boy who tricked me into love.
The boy who made me feel like garbage.

The boy I loved with all my heart.
The boy who played me like a toy.

Though glue may mend a broken plate, my cracks will never vanish.
