Her, Baby Brother

Her

Eyes brown like freshly turned earth, she looks into my soul.

She’s sees me for who I am. If only she could see her worth.

A goddess so stunning even Aphrodite stares in envy,

With a voice so melodic even the Sirens quiet in awe.

Buddha had it wrong. It’s not through the extinction of desire and suffering that enlightenment is achieved.

Because without the suffering in my life before her, I wouldn’t know the calming salve that is her love.

Without the white-hot desire we share I would not be blessed.

With her I am everything. Without her I am nothing.

Personality so rare that I’ve scoured the earth for another like her but like those in search of the Holy Grail, I’ve come up empty handed.

I have found the promised land. It’s right here. With her.

An eternity spent enveloped in her sweet embrace still wouldn’t be long enough.

Loving her will inevitably be the death of me. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Baby Brother

Baby brother.

We were always so close.

Do you realize what you’ve done?

All the lies you’ve spun

To make yourself the victim,

While simultaneously vilifying me.

Do you realize the damage you’ve caused,

Not only to this family, but to me?

Your own flesh and blood.

How am I supposed to be okay,

When my best friend

Murdered my soul?

What did you get from all this?

Did it make you feel like a man?

Was it worth it?

You ruined our family.

You ruined me.

And for what?

You know I love you.

But that wasn’t enough.

You just had a beautiful baby girl.

I hope you don’t give her a little brother.

Just like dad gave me you.

That’d be something, wouldn’t it?
