WATCHING A PREACHER BASH THE GIRL WITH PINK HAIR IN THE COURTYARD

And he said, grow like a dam filled with coal

And he said, release the steel hanging from your ears

And they said, release the ink
from your skin,
a woman’s ink only
good for paper, not to be
buried in her soul.

And they said, color
is only good for a canvas
restricted in a box of white,
pure cotton

And she said, there is no forgiveness

And she said, for being different
with a sin

And he said, regret will follow

And they said, for those who you love

And she said, for those like you.

And they send a dagger of words into my pit
like a stone drowning in sand
a ship lost at sea

And I say, listen for there
is
no
warning.
